Game Day Buffalo Drumsticks
Great for a Tailgate Appetizer or as an Entrée
Whether you’re eating outside the stadium or in your home, game day foods should be easy to make as it is to eat. This recipe fits both of those needs.
INGREDIENTS
- 3 lb. chicken drumsticks
- 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne
- kosher salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 1/3 c. hot sauce (such as Frank’s Red Hot)
- 1/3 c. unsalted butter, melted
- Ranch dressing, for serving
- Carrot sticks, for serving
- celery sticks, for serving
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 400°. Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top. Pat drumsticks dry.
- In a large bowl, toss together drumsticks with vegetable oil, garlic powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Place chicken onto wire rack and bake until crispy and cooked through, 50-55 minutes. Remove from oven and preheat broiler.
- Meanwhile, mix together hot sauce and butter. Toss wings in sauce until coated, then transfer back onto baking sheet. Broil until crispy and golden, about 2 minutes more.
- Serve with ranch, carrots, and celery.
